Press Release

New businesses look to The Heath to solve their space needs

December 5th, 2025: The Heath Business and Technical Park remains a popular location for both new and established companies with the flexibility to offer space to small or large organisations across multiple business sectors.

Created 25 years ago, The Heath continues to appeal to business leaders attracted by the unique ‘community feel’ of a site which offers so much more than simply office or laboratory accommodation.

Over recent weeks a host of new residents have chosen The Heath as the ideal solution for their business space requirements.

Lawrence Wright, founder of Poplar Project Management, launched his company in 2023 offering project management, software implementation and ISO consultancy services to the NHS, local authorities, Crown Dependencies and the financial and technology sectors. Lawrence says: “Our services include procurement support, implementation, process optimisation, training, and developing project plans and communication strategies. Additionally, we assist organisations in building project teams by providing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and delivering tailored training. As our business grew, finding the right office space became a priority, and The Heath quickly stood out.

“Though part of the attraction was the proximity to my home in Frodsham, The Heath has excellent transport links and great facilities including meeting rooms and a gym.  There was also something more personal as this was where I had my first job at 19 working in the mailroom and stores and even spending a week as a labourer. Those early experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the sense of community and diversity of businesses at The Heath. Returning now, as a business owner, feels like coming full circle. With room to grow and a supportive environment, The Heath is the perfect place to start our next chapter. Did I mention they also have a meeting room called ‘Poplar’? It was meant to be!” For more information see: www.poplarpm.co.uk

Watercycle Technologies, founded by Dr Seb Leaper and Dr Ahmed Abdelkarim as a spin-out from the University of Manchester, develops systems to recover critical minerals and clean water close to source, enabling circular, modular and scalable production that strengthens resource resilience.

The company is the first to commercialise a modular Direct Lithium Extraction system in Europe, capable of delivering high-purity lithium close to source while generating clean water as a co-product. Each system is adaptable and can be deployed in remote areas or within existing industrial plants providing a flexible solution that allows partners to trial, integrate and scale quickly both in the UK and globally.

Watercycle’s headquarters are based in Manchester with its operational plant located at The Heath Business and Technical Park where the company has expanded with additional space. Chief Operations Officer Matt Rockey says The Heath has been our operational hub for three years now with its amazing history and strong local network, it was selected as an ideal centre to scale up the business. We’d like to thank SOG for their continued support and we look forward to what the future holds. Leading charity Community Integrated Care have turned to The Heath as the base for their regional training courses.

Susie Howard, Senior Learning and Development Manager, says: “We were seeking a local premises to act as a regional training venue within the Northwest in addition to our head office in Widnes.  We needed access to large, bright spaces with easy local transport links and plentiful parking with access to shops/cafe for lunch provisions for our all-day delegates to help ensure all colleagues have a positive learning experience. Having the onsite reception also helps support delegates attending, offering a friendly face on arrival and directions to the training room particularly if facilitators are setting up. Claire, the Science Centre receptionist, is brilliant, she is so welcoming and helpful.”

Community Integrated Care is a national social care charity which provides care and support to thousands of people across England and Scotland. It was founded in 1988 with the aim of supporting people leaving long-stay, institutionalised hospitals to lead fuller, better lives in the community. Since then, it has grown to provide a wide range of innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across society, often from hard-to-reach communities.

These new businesses demonstrate the broad range of support and excellent facilities that we can offer to customers on a really friendly and very professionally run business and technical park.
