A request from Paul Cullinan, who is a member of staff within the University’ Careers & Employability, Employer Engagement Team, who are responsible for building relationships with companies who are potentially interested:
A lot of Paul’s work centres round working with companies, to raise their profile with the students, in advance of going live with their opportunities on our vacancy portal, because if the students are not familiar with the company, they’ll tend to migrate towards applying for roles with the companies they recognise.
It’s also about giving the students choice, in terms of:
As such, during the academic year, the team make a variety of options available to employers, to come and engage with the students (across various degree disciplines) and as part of their offer, they have a dedicated week for the Bio Science students, billed as Employability Week – w/c 4th November.
As part of this week, they would like to organise a Career Trek to a Science Park such as The Heath, allowing any interested companies to showcase their businesses to the students.
If you’d like to have a meeting to discuss this further with Paul his details are below and he will be happy to visit your company ahead of this. If you would just prefer to hold a meeting online, that would also be fine.
