Halton Chamber Showcases Business Community at Festive 1stuesday Networking
Halton Chamber of Commerce hosted its final 1stuesday monthly networking event of the year on Tuesday 2nd December at The Heath Business & Technical Park in Runcorn. These popular gatherings have become a regular highlight for many, providing businesses across the Borough with the chance to connect, collaborate and share ideas.
This festive, lunchtime edition welcomed over 110 attendees for an afternoon of networking, delicious food and seasonal fun. We were delighted to be joined by Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, who shared an update on the latest plans and developments across Halton and the wider region. He spoke about the importance of devolution, highlighting how deeper and broader devolved powers are essential for tackling regional inequalities, driving economic growth and enabling the six boroughs to make locally led decisions. A lively Q&A session followed, with questions on culture, TV and film opportunities, the importance of credit unions, transport links, skills, independent museums and plans for new homes across the region.
The Chamber was delighted to be joined by Cllr Mike Wharton, Leader of Halton Borough Council and Deputy Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, as well as Councillor Martha Lloyd Jones, Mayor of Halton, and her Consort Cllr Peter Lloyd Jones. Guests then enjoyed a festive buffet lunch and teamed up for a Christmas quiz. Raffle prizes were donated by local Chamber Members and businesses including Tesco, Aimia Foods, Esposito’s, Widnes Vikings, Halton BID, Liverpool John Moore’s University, Daniel Moran Electrical, Xpel Marketing Ltd, and Econic. Prizes were also awarded to the quiz champions and for this year’s Best Christmas Jumper, as chosen by The Heath School Choir, which went to Alec from Odin Quality Security – congratulations Alec!
The event highlighted the importance of community and the need for collaboration between local government, not for profit and social enterprises and business. Nightstop Communities North West, Autism Wellbeing CIC, Halton Haven Hospice and The Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Museum represented our not-for-profit members and promoted their valued and vital services and shared the proceeds from the raffle.
Rachael Owen, CEO of Halton Chamber, commented:
“Our 1stuesday networking events have become a cornerstone of Halton’s business calendar, giving members and guests the chance to build relationships, discuss key issues and share opportunities. This festive edition was a wonderful way to round off the year and providing everyone with an opportunity to hear directly from the Metro Mayor, learn more about the future plans for the region and ask the questions that count. The Chamber is proud to play a vital role in supporting businesses across the Borough and ensuring Halton remains a vibrant place for enterprise.”
Halton Chamber looks forward to continuing its 1stuesday monthly networking events in 2026, building on their reputation as a welcomed and regular highlight that kick starts each month and strengthens the Borough’s business community.
